It’s a bit drying and that oak note sits heavy across the senses. In addition to being the jammiest of the Blackened releases I’ve had it’s also the most oaky and tannic I’ve had. On the palate, water added more of the fruity notes and lowered the spice a tad, but overall didn’t do much and it stayed in that baking-spice-meets-dark-fruit profile. There’s a roasty, almost ashy, quality to it that sits under a large dollop of jammy sweetness. Jammy/fruity, oaky, cinnamon, caramel, vanilla, roasted citrus, bits of cocoa, leather and marshmallow.
